The -let suffix is sometimes added to a word to convert it to diminutive form.
It's like owlet -- a small owl, a kid owl.
You may remember applets from Java days of 1990s. This is a small app. Also, wavelet.
Also, gimlet (but not the cocktail). Also, starlet.
Now funclets and cmdlets -- small functions and commands. The ones that didn't grew up yet, I presume...
